Four things, and the limit of each.
Each claim below is followed by what it does not do. An estimate described as a statement of your account is the one way this page could mislead somebody about their own money.
Your holdings, priced
Add the shares you hold with the quantity and what you paid. The portal shows an estimated profit or loss at the latest available price we can get.
Where we cannot get a price the row says so rather than showing a zero, and the totals tell you how many are unpriced. It is an estimate, not a statement of your account.
Follow a recommendation
Star any note we publish and it appears on your watchlist with how it has done since we issued it — measured from the entry we published, the same figure for everyone who followed it.
Where you have also entered that stock yourself, your own figures sit beside ours, clearly labelled as yours. The two will differ, because you bought at your price and we published ours.
The work behind the recommendations
We also publish what we looked at and passed on, and why — so you can see the work behind a recommendation, not only the recommendations.
Those notes are published for a general audience. They are not advice about anything on your list, and we do not look at your list to write them.
Only you can see it
Your list is private. Staff can only use it to decide what to research if you tick the box that says so, and you can untick it at any time.
Email about a followed recommendation is off unless you ask for it, and it is a separate tick from everything else. You can take your data out or have it erased from your portal.
