Delete your data, on your terms.
Erase your app data in one tap, or ask us to delete everything we hold. Here is exactly how, what we remove, and the records SEBI requires us to keep.
1. What this page covers
This page explains how to request deletion of the personal data Desvelado holds about you, including data collected through the Desvelado mobile app (Apple App Store / Google Play) and through desvelado.in. It satisfies the account-deletion requirements of the Google Play and Apple App Store policies and gives you a channel to exercise your deletion right under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
2. What data we hold
Mobile app: if you use the Portfolio feature you may have provided your name, phone number, email and the stock symbols you entered, which are linked to a temporary ID on our server. The app also stores your learning progress, preferences and theme locally on your device. Website / research service: if you are (or enquired about becoming) a subscriber, we may hold identity and KYC data, contact details, subscription and payment records, and correspondence. We do not sell your data and we do not run behavioural profiling.
3. Delete data from the mobile app yourself
Open the Desvelado app → Portfolio tab, and use "Clear book & temp ID" to erase the data tied to your temporary ID from our server immediately. To remove everything the app stored on your device, go to More → your data controls to export or clear it, or simply uninstall the app. These actions do not require you to contact us.
4. Request deletion without the app
Email desveladoapp@desvelado.in from the address (or with the phone number) you used, with the subject "Delete my data". Tell us whether you want your app/Portfolio data deleted, your subscriber/website data deleted, or both. We may ask you to confirm one identifying detail (e.g. the phone number on the record) so we delete the right account and nobody else's. There is no charge to make a deletion request.
5. What is deleted and what we must keep
On a valid request we delete your app/Portfolio lead data (name, phone, email, entered symbols and the temporary ID) and any marketing contact details. What we cannot delete immediately: where you were an actual paying subscriber of our research service, SEBI (Research Analysts) Regulations, 2014 require us to retain certain client records (KYC, agreements, research communications, grievance records) for a minimum of five years from the last service. Those records are retained only for that legal purpose, are not used for anything else, and are deleted once the retention period ends.
6. Timeline
Self-service app deletions ("Clear book & temp ID") take effect immediately. Emailed requests are actioned as soon as we have verified them and in any case within 30 days. We will confirm by email once your data has been deleted (or tell you which records we are legally required to retain, and for how long).
